It's been a Rad year!

2 years ago my family was rocked when my 7 year old son Brad J jr was diagnosed with childhood Leukemia also know as A.L.L. 2 years later of his 3 year treatment life has kinda got back to normal. He is a cancer free survivor who loves to surf and ride his BMX bike. You can never imagine as a parent what you go through when something like this strikes your family, unless you have been through it before. A lot of sleepless nights worrying and wondering what you did wrong for him to catch a disease like this. After a while you stop the worrying and stressing over something you have no control over and focus more on the healing process.

As a parent of 3 it makes you stronger when the family has to pull together as a unit to be there for our son and brother. Little Brad has just over a year of treatment left which include bi-monthly spinal taps and steroids as well. The amount of medicines sickens me sometimes, so I try to understand its all part of the treatment and the treatment process. When he was first diagnosed it was tough to travel away to announce various Action Sports Events. But now that he is stronger than ever and was even voted most improved at Junior Lifeguards this past summer, it's easier for me to focus on my passion for Announcing Action Sports.

It's been a Rad 2012 for me. I went to Australia for my first time to announce on The Nitro Circus Live Tour, that was awesome. Visited China for my 6th year in a row to announce at Asian X Games. I announced all the Skateboarding at X Games and all the snowboarding at Winter X Games. Announced the biggest and baddest Mtn Bike comp in the world, Crankworx Whistler. New Announcing Jobs in 2012 were The Claymore Challenge in New Hampshire, The Colorado Freeride Festival in Winter Park, the USASA Nationals in Copper Mtn and Global Rally Cross in Las Vegas. After all that, The Make a Wish Foundation sent my family and I to Hawaii! It truly has been a Rad Year!
